Dear Mr. Swasey:
According to your application for the acceptance of the TCCA Type Certificate A-82 Issue
20 applicable to DHC-6 Series 400 "Twin Otter" aircraft and considering that De
Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited has submitted the required certification documents
(including all the files received vía e-mail as well as access to the portal
https://dehavillandportal.com/libraries/engineering#/),
which
were
evaluated
under
Colombian Civil Aviation Regulations RAC 21.156, the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority
(AEROCIVIL) hereby accepts the subject Transport Canada Type Certificate and welcomes
the DHC-6 Series 400 model aircraft to operate in Colombia.
The attached report (item 4 of the references) contains a complete description of the
assessment of all the documents provided, considering the dispositions contained in RAC
21.156, RAC21.120 which substantiate the type certificate that has been accepted under
this letter, particularly, sections 3 to 5 contain the core of the assessment completely
described. An evaluation of the operational requirements contained in RAC 135 established
in our country has also been performed and is contained in the previously indicated sections
of the report.
Is important to note that those additional requirements which are not in compliance by the
type design, must be substantiated directly by each operator intending to operate this aircraft
in Colombia.
To guarantee the safe operation and support the continued airworthiness of the DHC-6
Series 400 model aircraft registered in Colombia, “De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited.”
shall keep the Type Certificate documents updated (continuous airworthiness information),
therefore any major change to the type certificate here accepted must be notified and
documented to this Authority.
The issuance of this letter does not constitute exemption to any other legal requirements
currently imposed in Colombia by other government or military authorities.

This letter does not constitute an export approval, therefore is responsibility of the importer
to comply with requirements in RAC 21.825(c)(3) to obtain a valid airworthiness certificate
issued by this Authority.
Concerning the Post Type Validation procedure, AEROCIVIL will accept the Transport
Canada findings for all post-Type Validation changes to the Type Design (including design
change approvals, Airworthiness Limitations-AWL approvals, Service Bulletin-SB approvals,
and Continuing Airworthiness).
This letter of acceptance will remain valid until the original type certificate remains valid,
unless Transport Canada cancels or revokes the accepted type certificate, or the Type
Certificate holder (De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited.) voluntarily surrenders it to
Transport Canada.
