Dear Mr. Peters, According to your application for the acceptance of FAA Supplemental Type Certificate No. SR02124SE, related to the installation of: Garmin’s GTX 3X5/3X5R transponders in Part 27 rotorcraft on the AML. Considering that Garmin has submitted the associated technical documentation, which was reviewed and evaluated under Colombian Civil Aviation Regulations (RAC AERONÁUTICA CIVIL DE COLOMBIA Av. The Colombian Civil Aviation Authority (AEROCIVIL) accepts the foreign Supplemental Type Certificate No. SR02124SE, for major alteration application on Colombian registered aeronautical products, in accordance with airworthiness limitations and conditions stated in the FAA Supplemental Type Certificate. As substantiated by GARMIN, the following is the list of required documents that must accompany each installation on Colombian registered aeronautical products as required by RAC43 § 43.300(b): 1. Supplemental Type Certificate No. SR02124SE Installation of Garmin Transponders: GTX 345/345R with ADS-B Out Functionality. (Date November 11, 2016). 2. FAA Approved Model List (AML) – STC Number SR02124SE. Installation of Garmin Transponder GTX 3X5 with ADS-B. Amended Dated; February 17, 2020. 3. GTX 3X5 PART 27 AML STC Master Drawing List, Doc. No. 005-00734-A4, Rev. 4 dated 13/10/2022 or later FAA approved revision. 4. GTX 3X5 Part 27 AML STC Installation Manual, Doc. 190-007347-20, Rev. 7 11/10/2022 or later FAA approved revision. 5. Maintenance Manual Contains Instructions for Continued Airworthiness for STC SR02124SE, Doc. 190-00734-21. Rev. 4 13/10/2022 or later FAA approved revision. 6. Rotorcraft Flight Manual Supplement for the Garmin GTX 3X5 Series Transponders, Doc. 190-00734-22, Rev. 3 22/02/2022 or later FAA approved revision. 7. A letter of authorization of use of the STC signed by the appropriate person in the STC holder organization identifying A/C tail number and S/N. The aeronautical product must be listed in the respective FAA Approved Model List (AML) of this STC. The STC SR02124SE, will be entered in the national index of accepted STC. It is important to mention that a copy of the STC and required documents should accompany each installation (RAC 43, § 43.300 (b)). Please bear in mind that this acceptance is issued to the STC and its supporting technical data and does not constitute an approval for the product (or products part of the STC) to be imported, is the responsibility of the installer to comply with the requirements set forth in RAC 21.1200 for the product (or products) being imported In addition, please consider that your company is responsible to keep this STC information (The alterations’ published documents) updated to guarantee safe AERONÁUTICA CIVIL DE COLOMBIA Av. Any major change of the STC information must be reported and documented to the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority (AEROCIVIL). The validity of this letter of acceptance expires when the Supplemental Type Certificate approval ceases to exist. If at any point in time, the AEROCIVIL finds that there is a reasonable doubt to indicate that the safety of the aeronautical product is compromised because of an unsafe condition developed in the product, AEROCIVIL may cancel the letter of STC Acceptance.
